Upcoming Classes & Gatherings
Birch Bark Ornament Weaving!
Come learn to weave a beautiful ornament or pendant from the bark of the White Paper Birch tree! Using simply our hands and thin strips of birch bark salvaged from a local arborist, we will learn to twist and weave a beautiful star. Participants will leave with their own finished ornaments as well as the skills to weave their own from other materials they might salvage locally themselves!

Community Craft Night & Potluck!
Come enjoy an evening of good company, food, and craft! Craft Night is all about gathering folks to make and create together, so bring along whatever craft project you are working on, or take this time to learn something new! (or patch up those holes in your trousers you’ve been meaning to get to for months!) Anyone is welcome, no previous crafting experience necessary. Bring a craft, food to share, and utensils to eat with (we try to avoid using disposable when possible). Some wood scraps, sharpening materials, and carving knives will be available to use as well.
Free!

Basics of Sharpening!
Being able to maintain a keen edge on any tool is essential for safe and fulfilling carving, but before we can fully understand the various techniques we can use to keep our tools sharp, its helpful to understand the theory behind sharpening and what we are actually hoping to achieve with our tools. In this class we will cover sharpening theory, various freehand techniques, and accessible options for those looking to maintain sharp tools on a budget. Sharpening materials provided, participants are invited to bring a tool of their own to practice on.
