Creating a wild and handmade life.

Welcome Wild Folks!

I am Grant Hawkes, a woodcarver, outdoor living skills instructor, canoe expeditioner who’s constantly covered in wood shavings. I sell handcrafted items, teach skills, and am dedicated to trying to cultivate connection to natural landscapes, playful wildness, and our inner connection to creation.

I have always loved wild places, and from a young age I felt like there was more opportunities within the outdoors than simply seeing parks or passing by. Through my own experiences and under the mentorship of many other master outdoor guides and craftfolk, I have come to recognize the value of deep connection with the landscape. For me this connection comes from living with the land, coming to understand materials, plants, and animals as a community in which I gratefully belong and engage rather than simply observe. I hope to continue to learn and help others do the same.

This space is a hub for this pursuit, acting as a place to offer handcraft and outdoor skills equipment, class offerings, and occasional musings from my wanderings and interactions with other wild folk.

-Stay wild
